International Condemnation of Houthis for Executing Nine People Including a Minor

International condemnations were raised against Houthis for their execution of 9 people by firing squad in the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, on charges of involvement in the killing of a senior Houthi official in 2018.

In a statement, Washington described the execution as a “heinous act”, and said: One of those executed was a minor. This heinous act is another example of the Houthis’ indifference to basic human rights.

The American Center for Justice said in a statement: “We condemn the Houthi group’s execution of 9 of the sons of Tihama, on charges of planning and collaborating in what has been known over the past months as the farcical trial of Al-Samad killers.”
